The New Zealand Christmas Honey! This is a beautiful pale honey with unique, bright floral tones and a salty finish - a true taste of summer at the beach in the Far North.

The Pohutukawa tree (Metrosideros excelsa) is a coastal evergreen tree, native to NZ, that has a stunning crimson flower present for only a few weeks over summer! The prolific flowering in December means it is often referred to as the New Zealand Christmas tree.

The nectar has historically been used for sore throats, the inner bark is utilised in Rongoa Maori, and the timber is hardy and very versatile. One tree of significance is located at Te Rerenga Wairua (Cape Reinga) and marks the place where the spirits of the departed leave Aotearoa to return to Hawaiki.

Many consider Pohutukawa honey to be one of the rarest types of honey from Aotearoa New Zealand. True Pohutukawa honey is very pale, it is one of the whitest honeys in the world, and the wax produced is pure white - this is how beekeepers know it is Pohutukawa.

From the turbo-charged delivery (less than 48hrs from ordering to arrival at my front door) to using the UMF10+ manuka honey in a batch of tamarillo chutney/relish I made.....a perfect result all round. Awesome. Appreciated the affordable pricing and cultural significance. As somebody who has a heaped teaspoon of UMF10+ as soon as they wake up every morning, I can highly recommend....helps support physical and mental well being.....Stu in Tauranga

Delicious flavour. Not too strong but exactly what I wanted for gut health. A tspn isn't too overwhelming swallowed whole and added to my herbal tea it's a guilt free sweetener. Medical grade quality at an absolutely fabulous price. Thank you Tai Tokerau Honey for your consistently high quality honey and extra speedy delivery!

Wow! Amazing shipping speed!! It's not even Auckland, but I received a call saying it was shipped just minutes after I placed my order! I was skeptical, but wow! I actually received it the next day!! Amazing speed!! I highly recommend it!!! And the honey was on sale, so I was curious to see how it would taste. I'll be back!
